Though Not Today
Ironwood rests amidst red soil, rich in iron. Next to Copperwood, it’s the Territories’ other major metal mining town.
The town is nestled between a sturdy red oak tree and the cliff into which its mine delves.
Ironwood has two leaders: the town proper is managed by a governor, but the mine and all its support systems are run by an overseer. The Governor of Ironwood is an elected position whose primary responsibility is appointing the Overseer of the mine. Most of the town’s actual power lies with the Overseer, as most of the town’s mice work in the mines.
Miners and smiths account for most of the mice of Ironwood.
Ironwood, unsurprisingly, exports tempered iron and steel as well as raw ore while importing most of its grains and woodworking.
